Anger and a Coke bottle!

What is anger?? According to Wikipedia, Anger is an emotion related to one's perception of having been offended or wronged and a tendency to undo that wrongdoing by retaliation . Putting it in simple words, its an emotional outburst that comes up when we feel offended and is accompanied by a feeling of undoing that action.  Here is a simple analogy to it, i call it The Coke bottle analogy!

Coke bottle Analogy to Anger:
Shake a bottle of coke for 5 mins and then open the cap. What happens?? Everything bursts out, leaving the bottle empty causing the drink to flow all over the place ruining the carpet/floor too!

See the Fizz???
Our body is like the coke bottle, the mind is the liquid inside the bottle. The feeling of being offended is like shaking the bottle, and the outburst of Anger is the soda burst. This is quite but obvious from the above that if the bottle is agitated the mind will burst out! So for an ignorant, it is normal to be angry!

But a wise knows its not the bottle or the liquid that causes this outburst! Its the fizz, the Gas in the liquid at high pressure that causes the soda outburst. Its the past impressions, thoughts in our mind that act as the fizz for the mind and cause the outburst. When the mind with lot of fizz is agitated it bursts out.

And, a calm mind is like a bottle of juice. No fizz inside!
Calm Mind!
Similarly a calm mind when agitated, knows how to act and deal with the situation. A calm mind is cool all the time no matter how much the disturbance/ agitation is and just makes the situation better! What about a bottle of Tropicana juice shaken for a while and opened to serve?? It tastes better, because it says, "Shake well Before use! Serve Chilled"

Kolkata & Rourkela

Its was Shivaratri- the night of the Shiva that, that we all reached to kolkata in the morning of 12th. I thought Park Street was the only place to shop in Kolkata but entering Burrabazaar, the heart of Kolkata as they say, was a nice experience. Guys (call it girls) went soooo crazy for shopping that they did not even leave aside the Subziwala on the road side (well, we did not buy anything from them...we were on a window shopping spree :P).

Rabindra Sarovar Stadium, somewhere near to Jadavpur, was the venue that was to be graced by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar Ji for celebrating the auspicious night. The show started with an enthralling cultural show. Guru Ji entered the stage welcomed by the sound of Drums, bansuri and Shell conch. 70K people in one stadium to catch one glimpse of him and no CHAOS!!!! Guru Ji started with a small discourse on Shiva accompanied by a video by Bharath Gyan. Many a books were released on the same day by His Holiness. Rudra puja with Guru ji was one of the reason I had reached Kolkata, and it was worth. The meditations were deeper and full of gratitude, it was followed by a satsang which actually redefined the term Satsang. Guitars, Drums used to make a rock band but it was a Satsang. I could not resist the satva rush inside me at the tunes of "Shiva Shambo" and found my self swaying and swinging. All in all a great experience of the day.

We hardly had any sleep that night, reached our rooms at 12:30 AM to go back again at 3 AM :) Kolkata was not at all cold as compared to Ranchi, it was not very difficult to take a cold water bath at 3 in the morning. Guruji started Rudra Abhishek Puja followed by Maha Kriya (worth mentioning the Bengali Pranayam). Maha Kriya was intense and powerful. I d call it a life time experience. Satsang started with some slow numbers to grace the morning. Guru ji asked one question to all, " Sab k kaam ho rahe hai naa???" and I was shouting at the top of my voice, " Ji Guru ji" which was strengthened by another 50K people saying the same!!! Guru ji left the stage singing " Jai Jai Radha Raman...."

We walked out of the stadium in search of food and landed into the McD at 9 AM :P and then proceeded to Forum mall. I tried almost every single cotton trouser at the Cotton World, Forum Mall. Finally landing to buy a T Shirt and a shirt! Me and Rush were to leave for Rourkela the same day, well we are organizing course at the NIT. The journey from Kolkata to Rourkela was horribly full of dust, turning us into dust sprayed guys! To my surprise i was welcomed by Ganesh, Vinay and some special friends. Sweet corn Soup at the Sukhsagar restaurant made us change our plan of eating there and we moved to another one and my favorite  'Moksha' :P

I have always felt a sense of  fullness on entering my alma mater, but this time it was something more, i was full of gratitude for the place that 'made me' and we were now entering the same premises to make a difference there, introduce the YES+!!! The GATE exam was another exciting event that actually made me question if I was an engineer??? Well, it was Valentines day too :) and me & Rush turned out wearing red T-shirts out of mere coincidence, leaving some eyes looking at us in suspicion :P We met some people, analysed the situation, the crowd and made some new friends, got a few registered and it was time to leave Rourkela. Well, there was another surprise that was waiting... Gannu received a call that someone special wanted to see us off to Rourkela station (first time in the last 2 years)  :)

Finally We left Rourkela (yes we did meet that special friend...)

...to come back again on 18th... I m leaving for Rourkela tomorrow!

Rourkela ko hila k rakh denge!!!! AAAAHHHHOOOO...

Peace (शांति)

I was sitting in the ANR talk by Akhilesh Bhaiya today where he talked about Dynamism and Peace. I was imagining the the unbelievable state of being dynamic & peaceful at the same time! It was hard to imagine any such state for a confused soul. But i ll give it my shot to deliver something here about peace and my experience...

Peace (शांति), mean the state of mind when its not full of doubts and is clear in its vision. It is focussed and relaxed, with awareness. Its not wondering around  in both time and space & is with you this very point of time called the present moment. This is the state where in you will smile whatever the situation is. Such a situation is hard to believe and understand but a bliss to experience. Its a state where everything looks beautiful and charming, the creation of the Divine. Flowers look more colored and fragrant, weather seems pleasant, everything in its real state of beauty.

I got my first dose of this Inner Peace after my first YES!+ course in September '09. During my first 2 courses i used to wonder as if something magical happened and after that i believed that it was a actually a magic, the magic of Sudarshan Kriya!!!  I have been trying to write about my experiences with YES!+ since a loooonnng time but falling short of words to pen it down for no words can acutally express this magic of Sudarshan Kriya, its something worth experiencing rather reading.

जय गुरुदेव!!
